Plagiarism 101

Hello class.  Today I am home with a sick child.  Today I would like you to read about plagiarism and answer some questions.  I am thinking that the entire class needs a refresher on the topic of plagiarism.

1)  Go to the following link and take the tutorial developed by  Vaughan Memorial Library at Acadia University.  Write down three key topics you learned after taking tutorial.

2)  Read Avoiding Plagiarism article from UC Davis, Div. of Student Affairs, Office of Student Judicial Affairs, September, 2006.

2) How can this help you with your academic work?

Part 2 (Article Response)

2)  Why should you personally be concerned about plagiarism?
3)  After reading about avoiding plagiarism, think about how you could put some of these guidelines into practice in your current academic/elective classes?  Give three examples.
4)   Come up with your own example below of an original source (you could use the video textbook or internet article)  and a Student A (plagiarism response) and Student B (correct response).
